After HR 2378 was made WTO-compliant, U.S. Rep. Dave Camp, R-MI, joined in taking a step forward against Chinese undervaluation of their currency to help U.S. job creation and economic growth.
Here is video of his opening statement at the Ways and Means Committee markup of that bill:
"At the four hearings we held this year on China, we heard from many experts about our economic relationship with China, and in particular, China's currency policy.
There is no debate that China's currency is fundamentally misaligned. We all agree that China must take prompt action to allow market forces to determine the value of its currency.
But let's not kid ourselves -- there are far larger issues with regard to China and our trade imbalance ... "
I see this bill can no longer have activity...The House passed it--why didn't it ever make it to the Senate? That's why this nation is failing and China is rising; we have too much debate and no decisive action...
