The right main landing gear of this Piper PA-28R Arrow is stuck, and won't come down. The plane has to land and is running low on fuel. A dangerous but innovative solution is finally found. This was an awesome rescue action. Nobody was hurt. The pilot could land the plane safely.

  • Sounds like the pilot is going to die if the gear doesnt come down, not likely

  • No actually it's a Piper Arrow. Cessna's wings are usually "High Wing" where the wings are above the cabin. That's normally a good way to tell the difference. ;)

  • @BrettVisionSLR I agree with you. However, I would have tried the same thing as the man did to lower the gear. I'm just crazy like that. ;)

  • @toutatis12 Indeed...but if the man reaching for the gear was crushed, or fell from the car while reaching for the gear, that would be far greater a loss than that caused by doing some repairs to a machine.

  • IT WAS AN ACCORDD FUCKERS!

  • @twomuchmonster fuck you faggots its a nissan you mother fucker

  • AUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDI !!!!

  • @Criscocheeseman200 Media never let the truth get in the way of a good story. Probably the only story this year of any note in that area and the news crew milked it for all it was worth....

  • @cljohnston108 This WAS the actual footage, and remember the story well and without doubt, one of the most exciting and amazing rescues ever. The pilots skill at low level, plus the guy in the sunroof must have had balls of steel, because, the wheel was going to come down via gravity once released, it could strike him on the bonce and killed him. Out bloody standing....

  • I remember seeing a picture of this in the newspaper about 25 years ago. Was this the actual footage of the rescue, or did they just re-enact it for the TV show?

  • @Anonymous1226 Yeah. The gear repair will be a heck of a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild and another prop, as well as possible damage to the a/c structurally. Insurance does not cover everything. I realize the danger, however, the guy in the car made the decision to give it a try, no one forced him. I do understand your point of view.

  • @toutatis12 The gear still needs repairs. And you going to pay for the medical bills when the pilot accidentally lands the plane through the car.
