Closer look at homemade yoga swing components & set up-- system allows swirlgirl to play & fly like a cirque body doing aerial yoga & invert upside down safely!

Galvanized joist brackets-- not hurricane straps-- sorry misspoke on video, are screwed to floor boards underneath raised deck and 2X4 cross bracing keeps lumber from twisting & provides solid 2-point attachment for swing loop straps & carabiners.

Quick view of alternate set-up in basement using only floor trusses for anchor & separation of straps; no building brackets or power tools.

Skinny but strong straps from rock climbing days are looped over 2 trusses to maintain separation when connecting to swing handles. Heavy duty carabiners allow quick disconnect or change of height without much fuss.

Self motivated health & fitness conscious female with diy self sufficient attitude likes to reuse & recycle. Details shown of homemade inversion yoga swing set-up from items found around the home.

No need to purchase expensive physical therapy equipment if you are creative & handy.

  • You are just so darn amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Hope to spark interest & show having little hang-time fun at home doesn't have to be expensive! Recycle & reuse...been doing it for so long...way before it was the trend. Glad you like!

  • Well done!! Very much looking forward to seeing postures utilizing this.

is this rubber gentle to the skin? I have a 94% rubber mat and I enjoy it but I know some folks who feel it isn't so comfortable.

  • @Daniea3

Postures & stretching posted earlier in several of my videos, one posted today.

Seat made from old truck tire is NOT gentle rubber nor are the edges, can see are thick & crudely cut. The Jade rubber yoga mat is 10X softer & more comfortable on bare skin, not the same stuff.

Manufactured kits w parachute material hammock, sling or silks material don't give firm sacral-pelvic support for me & too fancy with extra handles, etc.

Mine very simple but can do alot & price is right!

your are very observant, do have old socks covering the rusted chain sections.

i fall daily but not onto my head if can help it. don't like blind landings either!

great job & way to go, a back flip with finesse, fake it til you make it!

  • good idea. i def will post on freecycle for swingset seats.

on your outside swing do you have socks over the attachments? i love that idea.

oh, i fall on head daily. just today a pop up yoga: a sort of inversion over a public railing,... flipped backwards and tried to act cool like it was intentional. it def was not.

  • @ZeBeFruity

freecycle find unwanted swingset & use flexible rubber seat with chains already attached. cover the chains with foam insulation wrap for pipes to cushion & protect your hands, unless ur tough like me- ha ha.

also substitute strong rope for r.c.gear straps

u should have seen the gawking eyes when i was doing my inversions at a public park in santa fe recently on playground swing with just enough head clearance, people acted amazed!

    no falling on head please!

    carabiners optional

  • elaine,

thank you x108. this is so helpful. i deeply admire your diy ingenuity and choice of recycling. so cool you have an indoor and outdoor swing.

my first step is find the dimensions of ceiling joists to determine eyebolt screw size.

then i'll post on freecycle for climbing straps, carabiners and a tire.

    happy flying! autumn

ps. nice to hear your voice ; )
