@Houndentenor1998: She didnt die of lung cancer and she wasnt 78 when she died. She was 83 and just ten days short of her 84th birthday. She actully suffered complications as result of the nasty fall in which she broke both legs

Now we have lost Dame Joan Sutherland on Monday the 11th October She had been ill for a number of years and then three weeks ago fell and broke both her legs . She never recovered from that accident anfd passed away in her sleep in her Switzerland home RIP Dame Joan and thanks for the memories

My all time favorite Opera singer. I saw her in person and she was such a beauty with a magnificant voice.
