Persephone's Flight [HD]

A better HD version of my film because I didn't want to kill the old file.

A cartoony retelling of the Greek tale of Persephone.

Demeter - Golden mother bird; goddess of grain/fertility/earth
Persephone - Red daughter bird
Hades - Snake; god of the underworld
Nymphs - Sparrows; friends of Persephone

This is my graduate film of the Sheridan BAA Animation program, 2008.

I love this! such a cute cartoon! love the whole thing with the bubbles and sound effect =D!

Though i have to admit i miss understood the story ^D^;. i thought they where a mum and dad bird with 3 offspring and she left them for the snake / tea :S.

but ether ways it rocks!

In Greek Mythology thts how the seasons change, becaz when Persephone came back, Demeter would be so happy tht the flowers would grow, the sun would shine bright, leaves on the trees would grow, and the grass would grow. But when Persephone had to return to the underworld, Demeter would be so sad tht all the flowers, grass, and trees would die and it would become rlly cold

@Toxion351- I am a big fan of Greek Mythology, and I did a lot of research on Persephone's abduction and i now know tht Persephone didn't love Hades, she had 2 stay with him becaz he tricked her into eating pomegranate seeds from his kingdom(back then if u ate somethin from the underworld u would hav 2 spend ur entire life there) so she was forced 2 stay there with him. Demeter waz so upset she stopped doin her job. Tht made Zeus rlly mad so he promised tht persephone would return 2 her every y
