thats true man.. this movies so great, not only does it reflect the gloomy beginning of the post-war transition to germany's industrial renewal in terms of plot, but also in tone. Many of the strong messages of this movie need no explaining whatsoever. This chicken is a great example in context of the depressing scenes surrounding it which exemplify the juxtaposition of the fake, happy nature of popular american attitudes and the sordid life twisting reality that comes w/ changes in work ethic.

Its funny but its actually quite a grim scene if you've seen the film.
