A great video thanks for posting it. It such a shame that scouts/cubs do not dress up smart like that instead of jeans and track suites what a mess. When i was a cub it was grey shorts and knee socks and were proude to wear it. Anyway thanks again.

Hi,
Any idea if the band is the Burgess Hill Scout Band?
I'm asking because I'm Assistant Bandmaster for Burgess Hill Marching Youth. If you know your history, you'll know that we originated from the Burgess Hill Scouts and in fact we did the very same parade yesterday and had a very warm reception from the people of Burgess Hill.

As far as I can remember, it is the Burgess Hill Scout Band. Sorry I'm a bit out of touch with the modern history of Burgess Hill as I moved away about 30 yrs ago.

Was the original footage in colour or black and white? The colour seems to come in and out of this film. I was wondering if you had used some effects to get some sort of colour to appear?

It was all in colour. Some sections are overcast which resulted in less saturated colours. It's also been converted a few times: film to DVD then edited in Adobe Premiere Elements and output to WMV and then uploaded to YouTube.
My Airfix and Silver Jubilee movies are from the same film thru the same process, on the Silver Jubilee video it was mostly sunny and the colours are quite good there.

Very clever adding the sound to the cine film. Where did you manage to get the sound from, because it sounds like the real thing? Did you maybe also take a tape recorder to a parade to record the sounds?

Thanks for your comments. If you trawl the net you can find all sorts of sounds in mp3, wav etc formats. To do the editing I'm using Adobe Premiere Elements which offers multiple tracks for video and sound. So just drop the sound file onto the appropriate place in the timeline, cut and fade in/out as appropriate. For the marching I multi-tracked a walking sound effect as I couldn't find a good marching sound.
