River Run Show 4/4/09

This was our second show in intermediate (2'6") this year, and we were reserve champion. I went off course on my warm-up (which didn't really matter since it's just a warm-up), and I did a hunter 3 round, but it wasn't the best and I didn't want to put it on here, because people would just start leaving really retarted comments. Also, on hunter 2, you can see that Dubie swaped out behind, and then changed his lead around the turn to the diagonal single. I am almost 100% sure he did that because the turn was so sharp, I could have supported and balanced him up a little more, and the footing in the corners at River Run is really deep. Anyways, please rate, comment, and enjoy! :)

Thank you so much, Mary! I really enjoy watching our progress too! We've gotten SO much better since I first got him. It's actually kind of amazing! :D I'll keep you updated on our upcomming shows, and hopefully get some videos up of them. :)

What type of excersizes can u do to train a horse to be a better jumper ???

The jumps are 2'6". Thanks! Lots of gymnastic and grid exercises help to develope the correct muscle toning and build needed for accurate jumping. It also teaches them to jump rounder, or have more bascule, and to jump "square". These types of exercises will teach a horse to "rock back" onto their hocks. Teaching a horse to thrust themselves by rocking back onto their hocks, creates a "spring", which propels the horse off the ground, Therefore creating a more correct, prettier, jumping form.

You are a really good rider. I love Dubie! Very cute! You make an excellent hunter pair. You kept your pace throughout the entire course and did excellent with leads!

Hunters is awesome for green or younger horses. Gets them ready and prepared to go to jumpers. Its actually not that boring since there are sooo many things to concentrate on other then just getting over the jump and fast.
