Anonymous: The Road Ahead

Hello. We are Anonymous.

You have seen our multitude. You have seen we do not fear the Cult of Scientology. You have seen that Anonymous is true to its word. This is only the beginning. We are looking to the long road ahead, and battle plans have been drawn. We take no pause until the Cult has been destroyed, and justice delivered for its victims.

Why do we do this? We do it for Lisa McPherson, Heribert Pfaff, Josephus Havenith, Kyle Brennan, Elli and Jeremy Perkins, and the whole host of Scientology's victims and scapegoats. We do it to expose the fraud of L Ron Hubbard, and his successor David Miscavige. We do it to defend freedom of speech, of the press, and of peaceful assembly. And, yes, freedom of religion. As we have said, Anonymous is not opposed to the right of Scientology's followers to believe as they see fit. We are against the ruthless, illegal, and deplorable activities of the Cult of Scientology's leaders, past and present.

Some remind us that we, Anonymous, have also involved ourselves in questionable activities in the past. This is true, and Anonymous never denies the truth. However, in what way has Anonymous ever caused lasting and severe harm? When has Anonymous destroyed the livelihood, or the lives, of the innocent? We have not. We have had our amusement, and then forgotten. We have annoyed and frustrated some, and then they have also forgotten. We have been a phantom, until now. The Cult of Scientology, meanwhile, has agonized many familys and individuals in a manner we never could.

We would like to applaud those who have turned their support toward this cause. It is not our cause alone. Anonymous has merely joined other activists fighting the Cult of Scientology. We have reinstated public awareness of this insidious tragedy, composing ourselves to accept the compulsory criticism in doing so. We intend to see that the only appropriate conclusion is attained, whatever the cost to Anonymous. You, too, are encouraged to arm yourself with knowledge. Knowledge is free -- knowledge is power. Hence you have the power to free yourself, and in freedom is still more power. It is the obligation of all mankind to use this innate gift to eradicate any true threat to our future, and the Cult of Scientology is such a threat. We implore you, do your research. Anonymous promises you, it will not be difficult. We do not, however, promise it will be painless. Indeed, the truth sometimes hurts.
