-A song by Duke Ellington, performed by Billie Holiday, Nina Simone & Ella Fitzgerald.
-Lyrics by Eddie DeLange and Irving Mills
In my solitude you haunt me
With reveries of days gone by
In my solitude you taunt me
With memories that never die
I sit in my chair
Filled with despair
Nobody could be so sad
With gloom everywhere
I sit and I stare
I know that I'll soon go mad
In my solitude
I'm praying
Dear Lord above
Send back my love
I sit in my chair
I'm filled with despair
There's no one could be so sad
With gloom everywhere
I sit and I stare
I know that I'll soon go mad
In my solitude
I'm praying
Dear Lord above
Send back my love

about a year ago i came across and awwwwwesome version of Solitude by Nina Simone None like it but it was removed from youtube and it broke my heart. If anyone knows or finds it let me know please. .. It was a very very slow, quiet version, and it had a similar title as this link
