@CaptainFelixTan1 If it wasn't built to, they wouldn't do it. The '17 is a tough bird.

This is incredible!! So did the pilot deploy reverse thrust before going into the decent to do the tatical approach?

Amazing stuff! Too bad my 152 doesn't have midair thrust reverse, or spoilers, or a HUD... but I can dive it 15 degrees!

Those transparent displays remind me a lot of the displays in Avatar. That's pretty much the only reason I like that movie.

This is a great clip, and I thank you as I was part of the team that wrote the HUD software. We never got to see "real" fottage of our work, we just ran ut on test rigs. TheC-17 is a GREAT bird and I would love to see more on-deck film like this. Good work and God bless guys n gals, glad we could of been of help.

@airrace1113 Geeez, is he deploying the TR's? The only aircraft I knew that could do that was the Gulfstream jet used to simulate space shuttle landings for training the astronauts.

One of the pilot said "This is how we survive in Iraq & Afghanistan". Does he survive by not landing? It looks to me like he was attempting to land but let himself stay too high on the approch, doinked it up, then had to wave it off. Good judgement. Poor technique.

@RangerRuby There was no intent to land. We shot a altitude restricted low approach into the airfield. Afterward, flew around the channel islands and then back to March ARB where a different type of tactical approach was shot called the TAC EAST, and finally landed on runway 32.
