A new and very interesting piece wherein the Zheng and Turntable are improvising over each other.

  • TheBoredOne7: Why do you assume that was improvised?

  • I'm not assuming anything: That's what it said in the program. Whether or not I believe it or whether or not it actually is, is a completely different discussion.

  • Depends on what you believe constitutes improvisation I guess. These works were definitely mapped out and practiced and therefore I would argue not improvised, though others may argue that since it isn't the exact same every time or isn't composed to paper it is impov...whatever. More importantly, why so few shots of the DJ? He is working just as hard, creating just as much, prepared just as much, has invested as much of his life, is as much a part of this collaboration, etc.

  • Sorry, since I had never heard the song before I had no idea how balanced their parts would be and I just figured since it's the FSU Chinese Ensemble concert, that she would be the main thing worth watching. Also, because I'm using a small digital camera, I don't watch the concert through it, and so sometimes I forget to adjust it and that's why there'll be times where it'll be off-center for a while and junk like that.
