31st May 2010 - A small number of protesters tried to enter the lobby of BBC Headquarters, Manchester as the protest march against Israel's assault on the Gaza 'Freedom Flotilla' returned to its original starting point. The police responded harshly in their efforts to eject protesters, initially from the lobby, then from the steps outside. The BBC's only coverage of the whole Manchester protest (that I could find) centred on this brief lobby occupation: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/manchester/10199808.stm . I should add that I didn't hear of or see any violence or aggression from protesters, even though the police were quite aggressive at times.

  • "didn't see violence?!" what about smashing the glass doors, throwing placards, spitting, hitting cops with the placards?? Maybe I was at a different peaceful protest!! Lol idiots- get a life and go abroad and do something over their instead of disrupting the people in England, if you don't like it here - do one back "home" not on my doorstep.

  • @patch1949 Ah good, more healthy swathes of insults for all and sundry. Hate to ruin your bordering-on-racist "go home" xenophobic outburst, but being English like yourself I've already accomplished that. If you have any more words of wisdom, don't hesitate to hold them in.

  • Dicks, protestors that is

  • @patch1949 A limited number of protesters trying to occupy the BBC's lobby might not have been the brightest idea on their part, but emotions were understandably high on 31st May, and it was otherwise a large, peaceful and respectable (and highly warranted) protest which, incidentally, still received no TV coverage that I know of. Protest itself (i.e. speaking out) is essential. Heard of THX1138, Equilibrium or 1984?

  • @frednoname1 pro-genocide?!?!?! You mean israelis are pro genocide.

  • @MaDeenThenMaLife1 Another muslim supporting genocide.

  • YEAH, kick the pro-genocide, pro-hamas protesters asses!!!

I love to see the pro-genocide people like hamas supporters bleed.

  • @fiercexflawless If we were discussing wasps, then I'd agree - wasps are pointless in the food chain. However, we're not, we're discussing humans who are trying to make a positive difference in a world of dictators and despots, not just for themselves, but for people like yourself who don't even realise. Therefore, if you call protesters idiots, you may be able to guess what my perception of you is.

  • @fiercexflawless how else will we show our concern

mashallah in france 30 cities were out protesting

Israel will be wiped out soon. by the will of Allah(swt)

  • @MaDeenThenMaLife1 Protesters are idiots. What is the point in their existance?
