i thought judo was throws and thats how you get points?

i wonder why he wasnt scored ipon [against bj] at 4;20 why do they restart after the armbar instead of straight tap out win are they modified rules many judoka complain that fights arnt let long enough on the ground that they are stood back up to quickly even in the olympics but not the case here it flowed more like bjj .the judoka never footsweep which is their main weapon for attack and set up . just wondering of coarse

BJ Penn is amazing, but he was a BJJ brown belt or black belt at this time, but because he did not train Judo they made him wear a white belt to the competition. At least this is how it was explained to me. Still amazing.

I know this was before he was a black belt... I thought I had read he was purple at the time...
