Winchester 555 Rounds 22LR 36Gr. Plated Hollow Point

  • @Stuntdriver442

Nice, saves you some money and some bullshit. I'd still make sure to brush out your feeding path real nice.

  • Not to hate on your gun savage makes nice guns but it must just be your gun cuz my ruger 10/22 performs flawlessly with winchester 555 and 333

I think they are the same though... Nice review tho

  • @A7Delgado

Yeah, I was testing the relationship between different 22LR rounds and the Savage 64, not the quality of the rounds in general. It's good to hear that the ruger 10/22 works well with hollow points. I like the ruger 10/22, but I think I need to get serious and buy an 870 and 1911 before I get another 22.

  • Thank you for this video... I got like 300 rounds of mini mags for free and had no idea they were actually great. finally, ima go shoot those things.

    No problem, have fun.

  • try a ruger 10/22 i have tried many different brands hollow point bullets and ive never had a jam, i have put over 3000 rounds through it and it still works fine

  • I've been using Federal Champion (brick of 525) and have had pretty good luck with it. The last boxes I've bought are coated in wax. WAX? Consequently I'm getting about 30% failing to chamber. Has anyone else had a problem with these rounds? TIA

  • @slyder2k6 200 rounds later i havent had a single problem out of it. This is not telling anyone in any way to modify your magazine/clip or what ever you wanna call it. I am telling you how i fixed my problem. I love the savage line of guns. But this seems to be a common problem with this clip. I hope this helps anyone else having the same problem.

  • I purchased my savage 64 two days ago. Along with a box of the winchester bulk hollow points. Loaded the magazine to full capacity and it would not chamber a single round. After a lengthy tare-down and inspection it turned out to be the clip. The machined "ramp" on the front of the clip was actually cutting into the lead holding it from moving up the ramp. Dropped the bottom out of the clip and took a 1/4" round file and gently "flushed" the base of the ramp with the inside of the mag.

  • Savage rifles always seem to shoot CCI well... i know that sounds strange. My model 93 .22 WMR and my Mark II .22 lr savages shoot CCI better than any other manufacturer ive used.

  • The 555 pack is rubbish, they drop short and vary in distance all the time. The Federal Value Pack aint a false HP. I pulled some out of birds i shot. It mushroomed perfectly. Better than PROPER HP`s like 555.

If im using hunting ammo. I use Remmington Yellow Jackets, there lethal. CCI Velociters are the ducks nuts, best of the best IMO. Stingers, Segemented HP`s. Would rather use them over Mini Mags. More power.

  • my 64f prefers remington hd hypersonics more than anything, and they are absolutely deadly when it comes time to catch one of our roosters for thanksgiving, or to thin the population of skunks. You may want to try those out if you are in the mood to shoot shoot some varmints.

  • Mine eats up all ammo(HP/RN) fine..."IF" I use certain mags I have. Other mags I have are just problematic. I have been shooting bulk Win 555 recently with no problems. Mini Mags are the best by far. I buy a pack a month while shopping and just save them now. I think .22 has gone up "over" 200% in the past 10 years and I kick myself for not stocking up then. I am younger but I do remember bricks for $7. I have shot everything you showed fine minus the 2 small Federal packs. Lucky I guess.
