The first time I heard, and I mean HEARD, this song not just listened to it was in Basic Training. Far from home and on my own for the first real time I went to this congregation and this little petite woman, who was also a Basic Trainee, got up and sung this song while a pianist played behind her. I kid you not I cried for the first and only time in Basic Training. This version is the closest version I can find to her voice and feeling, and I thank you for posting it.

The word Noel comes from the French word Noël meaning "Birthday", from the Latin word natalis "birthday"..i believed that whatever version of different singers in the world, what important is that EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW THE MESSAGE OF THIS SONG and THE POWER OF HIS NAME..that no one should arguing what is better and what is not..God love evryone of us and no matter what happens to our lives, HE WILL ALWAYS BE THERE FOR US..Merry CHRISTMAS WORLD:)now..i dont know wat to say!!.

@zero30790 I learned from my native-French French teacher that Noel in French is 'Christmas', not 'birthday'. Correct me if i'm mistaken, and the word is applicable to both meanings.
