Solo Moto Parts rider footage from a local group ride to Randsburg through the Mojave Desert in California. We came across winding back roads 3:25, a dry lake 4:00, whoops 4:57, and hit the ground in the sand 7:49 quite a few times. The F800GS has taken the abuse and asked for more. We outfitted the BMW with Barkbuster handguards, SW Motech crashbars & skid plate, Scotts steering stabilizer, TKC80 tires, DID chain, Two Brothers exhaust, and more. Buster is wearing the Klim Badlands jacket and pants, the Arai XD3 helmet and Gaerne SG12 boots. All of these items are available at http://solomotoparts.com.

  • Great vid, what is a steering stabilizer?

  • @Nombredecorsario1 It is a compact, hydraulic shock absorbing damper that mounts to your steering head area right above your handlebar mount.

  • Great vid. Kudos to you for showing us your falls, and gutting it out. The more you ride the sand the easier it get. "I hate you": love it.

  • @skeeterweazel Thanks, Marty. That was our first run through that much sand for that long of a stretch, so Buster hit a major learning curve... and then blew through it and hit the ground instead.
