  • please dont bath them once a month. it can irritate their skin. you should only bath them maximum twice a year.

  • @PleaseStopTalking5

    pretty sure they are fine

  • @etanna can you use dog shampoo for your rat?

  • @airforce812

i wouldnt its way too harsh with chemicals

  • how long does the spray last? like does it go disgusting if left in the bottle?, and how much water ?

  • Bathing a rat is equivalent to bathing a cat. Rats are extremely clean.

  • @etanna No. @PleaseStopTalking5 is right. It could dry their skin completely. Do research before you do that to your rats.

  • @1flub1 Cute!

  • @horselover8408 My Russian dwarf is called xavier :)

  • @Hollydoll317 True they don't need LOTS of oil on their skin but MOST hairless rats that don't have overload of oil builup like yours shouldn't be bathed very often because it'll wash away the oils, but it seems that your rat gets to much oil and must be bathed to prevent things from happened; i'm just saying for most hairless rats lots of bathing isn't reccomended.

  • when picking up there pop like u do everyday use a cat scupper it will pick up just the poop and u wont have to use ur hands

  • @horselover8408 Xavier, my hairless rat is prone to cysts and blackheads, and must have his skin exfoliated and cleaned at least once a week, otherwise he will have to get surgery. He's already had 2 surgeries, and ever since I have been bathing him more frequently, he's had no problems with cysts or blackheads. I also supplement his diet with fish oil and olive oil, to keep his skin from becoming dry.

Oil on their skin is exactly why their pores become clogged and they must be bathed.

  • @Hollydoll317 Um hairless rats should be bathed less then ANY rats. Once a week is too often; specially for hairless rats. The hairless ones have oils on their skin that they need (Like instead of fur) when you bathe them often it washes the oils off of them and it's not good.

  • @PleaseStopTalking5 ..Rats are supposed to be bathed way more than once a year. Most rats love water when exposed to it from a young age, and rats in the wild are in water almost everyday. I have a hairless and his vet recommends baths 2-3 times a week. With male rats especially, because they develop a buck grease, they are supposed to be bathed at least once a week with a diluted antibacterial soap. I really hope you bathe your rat more than once a year..

  • your son is so cute lol. and thank you for the home made cleaner idea.... rat cage cleaner from the pet store is getting too expensive
