Bacteria can increase productivity of this bio-fuel.

Another thing to note, because the majority of cars in Rio for example are on Ethanol, the air much pretty clean in a city of 12 millon + people. Compared to LA for example, Rio is wayyyyyy cleaner.

@swillswill Ethanol can be produced from a wide variety of crops, not just sugar cane. Corn can be grown in massive quantities and it is not true that corn for ethanol raises food prices. This is a myth. The waste product that remains from the harvest and processing of corn is used to make ethanol. The high quality kernel and oil proteins are extracted for food products. The remaining waste is used to produce ethanol. The primary obstacle to ethanol in the US is the oil industry lobby.

U.S. plans to dbl production of ethanol by 2112? It's going to take 101 years? Really?! B.S. We need it to be done in 10 years. It should have been started 20 years ago. I guess it's going to be up the the U.S. citizens to get it going. Start making their own ethanol. It's only been done for 200 years now.

I've been using ethanol for 20 years already. I had 2 petrol cars , 3 ethanol and the last one a flex fuel (ethanol/petrol) Chevrolet. That means all my driving life...
In the beginning because was cheaper but now because it's better as well. A little bit more power and of course a clean energy. If you live in a city like Sao Paulo with millions of cars everyone start to think how we can reduce the pollution. A smart decision.
Now I understand why we never fear oil crisis like overseas...

Pause for just a moment and think about this, folks. The Brazilian climate is conducive to growing sugar cane, from which a great deal more sugar can be extracted than from corn. There is no way that the US could grow enough quality sugar cane to lend feasibility to such a system, and the corn we grow does not contain enough sugar to be effective either. Three cheers for Brazil, but it won't work in the US.
Hey I would like to go to Brazil! Love the language! Love the people!
