It's pretty hard to argue with your logic, but I've fallen into deep cynicism about our leadership. I think it's likely that we've become the victims of special interest groups in the worst ways imaginable.

I really appreciate that. "the middle east thing" notwithstanding (and the definition is too lengthy to deconstruct), in a perfect world, the politicians make decisions by and for the people. The Military does not make those decisions, and should not, except as they can through their votes, as the rest of us. Theirs is to decide how best to achieve the goal, if we are the model we seek to be...which is always up for debate.

I know it's highly debatable, but I just don't agree with the whole middle east thing, the way the forces were deployed in Europe in the '90's etc. These decisions are made by politicians, not by military. I honestly don't give the politicians enough credit to be able to sacrifice as such. There is not a lot of space on Youtube for a guy to make his point about this, but you probably get my idea. But I love this song.
