@JonTronShow Agreed, not to mention the cast was a bit more refined.
I like both versions, but if tasked with a choice, the latest one deffinately pulls ahead.

I do like this ending better than the newer movie's, but I think this is still weaker than the book's ending. I just don't like the way they used the music in this movie; in the book it was more dramatic since it seemed like the only noise in the woods was the gunshot, but in this movie, the shot is followed by loud music which, while dramatic, seems to interupt the actual impact of the scene.

George had nothing. It was just Lennie and George. They had each other, but that was it. Nothing to really give each other, yet at the end, George was able to give Lennie the world, and in the end he had to take away his own.

Good lord method acting has improved since this era....
Lennie is basically just reading lines as if he were a charicature of a dope. I like the new movie alot better.

i think the Lennie in this version is better then in the newer one. but in the newer one, they nailed George and Curley and nearly all the characters.
