Here I am to Worship in mandarin by tim hughes recorded at the chinese bible church of springfield, illinois. cbcsil. beginning worship song.

1. 神你是光 Light of the world, 你照亮了黑暗 You step down into darkness.
Opened my eyes let me see. Beauty that made
讓我心渴慕你 this heart adore you
Hope of a life spent with you.

[Chorus] And here I am to worship, Here I am to bow down,
Here I am to say that you're my God, You're altogether lovely,
Altogether worthy,
Altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days,
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above.
Humbly you came
來到你所造之地 to the earth you created.
All for love's sake became poor.

I'll never know how much it cost
能使我罪釘上十架 (x3) to see my sin upon that cross. And I'll never know how much it cost
(Repeat 副歌) to see my sin upon that cross. No I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. (Chorus)

  • its so touching

  • This sounds unwelcoming to a potential new believer and doesn't even sound like Christians who should be speaking with the non-condemning voice/LOVE of Christ. My mother-in-law holds to this experience with contempt for the Chinese Church in her hometown. She seems to play it off, as if to say, "Oh well! If they don't want me there, I guess there's no need to be there." (Just the impression I get from her-- not her exact words.) She has declined any invitations to church from my wife and me.

  • The pastor, to give him the benefit of consideration of his teaching perspective, was most likely giving a sermon on the wheat vs. chaff at the time, years back, when my in-laws went to church. Unfortunately the following idea may have sounded so harsh to unbelievers/seekers at the time, that it blocked potential for the Holy Spirit to work that day. In a condemning tone, the pastor stated rather emphatically "that unless you were Christian, you may as well not even be there..."

  • ..nevermind... should have read more carefully. Overlooked the info section. Thanks! Beautiful to hear worship in other languages than my own! Does anyone know how to approach my in-laws with the Gospel when they have been offended by a Chinese pastor? The offense has turned them away from pertinence or a perceived need for God and they are content with their lives, relying on a strong sense of materialism, personal accomplishment, self-attained financial success, and self-provision...
