If other people don't understand that they can put enormous amounts of material into the tube that is my own personal internet, I might have to not use the internet to order a new one, and FedEx will have to send me a new one.

I think the late Ted Stevens was a raving nutter, of course, but it could be pointed out that "a series of tubes," as laughable as I find the phrase, isn't the worst possible analogy for the way the Internet works. Even in TCP/IP networking circles we speak of network links as "pipes."
