@jkl9093 Its 10^-7 because according to scientific notation, 500 nanometers = 5 * 10 ^ -7 since you can't have numbers more than 9 in scientific notation. :D

@ jkl9093 when working in si units (or standard form if your British) the number before the exponential value (10^x) has to be between 1 and 9.999..... Because there are two 0's after the 5 this means the 5 moves up two decimal places hence -7, hope this helps = ]

I was trying to figure it out and intuitively understood, but I didn't know how to express it exactly.
