In the cartoon, they used CHINESE. Everything (from the clothing, to the philosophy, to the language) is Asian or Inuit. It is an Asian-themed show.

what made me laugh was the Sokka Katara and Gran Gran are white but the rest of the tribe are Inuit

um i guess you've never had that many asian friends. look up michelle pham, the amazing vietnamese make up artist, she has pale skin. i mean asians have a lot of light skinned people and they actually idolize fellow asians with pale, soft colored skin, and that's why many animes have light skin protagonists. the fire nation, earth nation, and air all wear asian clothes
