I just purchased the PMDG 747-8 expansion today. Here is a short video of it. Enjoy. Music is the inspiring Australian theme "Man From Snowy River" by Bruce Rowland. Stay Tuned for an "Aircraft Sound Only" version.

  • Looks fantastic, I wish Qantas waited for this beauty instead of impatiently opting for the fat bastard.

  • @eliskander I like both the A380 and the 747-800. I also love the 777, 787, and the on coming a350. If you truly love airplanes then you shouldn't be debating over 747-8 and a380 cuz their both great airplanes and cool in their own way! :D

  • @zszs100 Ya True airspeed is 493. N1 is still high 90s

  • @747qantas I think you have indicated airspeed on. Select true air speed.

  • @zszs100 on the speed tape, we have a 50kt buffer. Overspeed is about 335 and stick shaker is about 285. Will advise when I can step to FL350. Gotta burn off some fuel.....

  • @zszs100 As for the engines N1 is 97 on all 4 EGT is

    530. Now, I'm using the RR engines here..

  • @zszs100 OK, here is what I got... KLAX to YMML RWY24R. Fuel is 385,000lbs GW is 900,000lbs. Cost Index I used 50, leaves me with 12,000lbs at YMML - that's about right. FMC wants me to CRZ at FL340 but climbing to 35000 just to see. Takeoff was flaps 20 using the perch departure.Currently, crusing at FL340. QNH is 29.97. HDG 225. We usually cruise at mach.85 as per FMC calculations. At this altitiude that's 300KTS. The GS (Ground Speed) is 473.

  • @zszs100 Thx for checking it out for me! I know PMDG is realistic so i want to check. :D 495 knots is not way too fast on a clear/claim day. 490-495knots is 747's normal cruise speed at 35000ft.

  • @zszs100 Hmmm 490kts is way too fast. Not sure how you're even getting those airspeeds at full fuel. To answer your question, let me jump in the sim set up a flight and i'll let you know. It'll take me an hour, but stand by :) I'm curious now too.... THX for asking me.

  • @747qantas Hello I got a question. I am unsure if my 747 is realistic. How much thrust does PMDG 747 use when cruising 495knots at 35000ft? My 747 uses 88% thrust at full fuel.
