Wonderful player and such a great sound so why compare him to M.F.? I did laugh though when Maynard was called "competant". He was the ultimate trumpet player and everyone wanted to be able to play and sound like him. He'll never be replaced.

@Tymun THis man is talented but Maynard had all the control and could even pull off Rocky theme way beyond the normal range. I think Tim is awesome.. but Maynard is just as strong.

@foodmore Yeah that is him! He's also incredibly good. He is principle of the Pershing's Own Army Band and he plays in the Army Brass Quintet.

As a trumpet player myself...Tim's clarity and control is hard to beat. You'd be hard pressed to find another trumpeter who is able to manipulate a trumpet as comfortably as he does. Maynard Ferguson is a competant trumpet player with a unique style, but he doesn't have nearly the control that Morrison does. Evan and Pinchuno, just drop it. It hardly matters who is a better trumpet player. All that matters is that Tim Morrison is good and that is the only thing demonstrated in this video.
