  • What is the "MPX" selector for?

  • FM stereo. Back in the day it was called FM Multiplex sometimes.

  • Rik! what a nice stereo, loads of formats there. Even the BSR turntable has got 78 and a flip over needle! :) awsome!! I'm just thinking, does that unit have a mono button on there? so everything like turntable could play in mono? awsome unit!!

  • No mono button.

  • "Peanut Butter Conspiracy". Are the new or from the 60's? This unit sounds alright compared to most other all-in-one units. A tell tale sign of a HQ all-in-one is the turntable. If it has THIS model BSR turntable it's usually kind of crappy. But Sony, Lafayette, & Harman Kardon made higher quality ones with either Garrard, Dual, or a BSR turntables with the larger head shell that houses a MAGNETIC phono cartridge, not a ceramic one as this has. That last tune is psycho! Nice 4 $17!!!

  • Whats that song called at 4:27-4:30?

  • That's quite a find, well done! They used to be sold here as a "Binatone",exactly the same but with a more plasticy case and lighter wood colour. That FF thingy used to run the centrifugal regulator motor at double speed. The motor had three brushes, like some older car window wiper motors. The BSR deck was a single play with shaded pole motor. The cassette had electronic motor control.

Yours appears to be in good health, mine, that came off the bins, died years ago!

  • Ricky, my General Electric Wildcat portable stereo record player had the same features as the BSR such as the 3-speed control, the size selector and the power switch which is "OFF", "ON" and "REJ" instead of "OFF", "START" and "AUTO". If you haven't seen my GE Wildcat, check out my demo on my channel for details.

  • I've been searching for that record forever! lol I found out what that song you recorded onto 8 track was, it's called "You can't be found"... very much like that album LOL

And I just favourited this, because I really like the music u used in here, and I REALLY like that stereo! it's just too bad it doesn't have an AUX in. But would you consider tapping into the PHONO and add some AUX jacks? or would that be hard on the stereo? Because I'm considering doing that with my Lloyd's.

  • Oddly similar to the JCPenney. I noticed that the turntable is made by BSR, as I have a very similar one connected to my stereo. Awesome!

  • Don't let samuraiclinton get to you, he's a gobshite.

  • BSR and Garrard rivaled eachother.
