Tell an aggressive person this, and your troubles will be over: NNN, MUH? NNN, HMM? Be right back, NN.

lol...probably not! The best you can do with an aggressive person is to use a strong and sturdy voice, have clear boundaries and if the person is your boss ask for specific behavioural examples of their concerns and what they would like to see change. I'm really enjoying another book that I hadn't read at the time we made this video - Disarming the Narcissist by Wendy Behary. Even if your difficult person isn't an narcissist there are some good assertiveness skills described in this book.

(ran out of room on my last comment): But I kind of do like your idea of confusing them and leaving - the only problem is if they decide to follow you! :)

Secondly were u guys taking verbal jabs at each other between and before the role playing as an example of using these techniques or am I just mildly delusional? Lastly appreciate the upload, I've learned some things.

Kim's a good friend of mine and we've run many therapy groups and workshops together when we used to work at the same hospital. I don't recall us taking jabs at each other while making this video (maybe I should watch it again) - but we have been known to tease each other or laugh at ourselves when we're together :-) We also had some trouble with the audio and there was a slight lag between when she'd talk and I'd hear her. Maybe that's what you're picking up on? I'm glad you enjoyed the video!

@christine first, that last comment post exemplified the use of verbal jujitsu. Nice.

Well, I can understand his disappointment about the sound quality - we just decided that info was too good not to post at all (which was our only other option).

You make very good points. I forgot to say, "say it really fast." That perhaps may make all the difference..
Thanks for helping the population.
