  • Great video. Another tip my old coach gave me was to watch Goran and some of the older tennis players who stand relatively perpendicular to the baseline instead of parallel to the baseline when serving. By standing perpendicular to the baseline, you don't rotate your arm as much during the serve. You generate less spin as a result, so there is less tolerance for error in the serve, but after I tore my rotator cuff, it was the only way I could serve without extreme pain in my shoulder. Try it!

  • thanks- never really thought of that- well maybe a bit. but your explanation proved a bit of a theory i had, but cudn't really back up. so thanks. i tried it- and not only does it reduce the stress- but seems to add a lot more power. so again- thanks.

  • Very nice! I'm trying that next time I'm on the court. I've had some pain in the upper part of my arm all last season, and as the #1 singles for my school, I couldn't carry the team through. I had some sad loses, and I think it had a lot to do with my serve. Thanks again.

  • thanks for the tips, i actually have some discomfort on my front rotator cuff section i think, the one you were pointing with your fingers. It's no big deal, but sometimes it bothers me when i make a fast forehand, when it wraps around or my arm finishes, it bothers sometimes there.
