@gell7 Good pun! But I agree. It's hard to find excellence and modesty together anymore, but you find it with the Kings. Unlike the wrestling world, and many other arenas of life, the skies do not suffer fools or their foolishness. You probably know the adage of "Old Pilots/Bold Pilots"...no more need be said.

@SenorSpode the kings are one of the best in aviation .. they wrote the book on flying for the average non pilot, so give them their prop they been there and is still doing that .

Also, FAA should make Instrument Rating mandatory instead of giving it as an option. I personally think Private Pilot should include Instrument Rating...because most of the accidents happen when flying from VFR into IFR and either losing control of plane due to ice/wind or impacting terrain that is invisible through clouds or at night (eg: trees before the runway).
Spin/stall accidents next.
So many small piston engine failures forcing pilots to make emergency landings...what's going on?

I absolutely can't believe how the government wants to address GA 'security' while completely neglecting GA risks+high accident rates. FAA wants to reduce the GA fatal accident rates by a mere 10% from 2009 to 2013. That means many more pilots dead this year and the coming years.
So many GA aircraft are old, antiquated without airbags, dual doors, impact-fire-prevention, portable collision avoidance systems, emergency parachutes, situational awareness GPS, etc.
A true shame really.

John and Martha King have been especially helpful for loads of Flight Simulator fans, too, through their tutorial videos in Flight Simulator. They are truly the First Couple of Aviation.
A masterful communicator, you make complex subjects understandable. But, the students have to want to learn. Too bad the committee people (your students that day) weren't even listening, and appeared to have their minds already made up.
Thank you for all you do for general aviation.
