People- of course it was from a HUMAN standpoint, what else was there? The character is JUDAS, yes the very one who betrayed Jesus. The lyrics make his personal argument very well, but Jesus already knew he would be betrayed by 2 apostles, Judas effectively led Jesus to slaughter.

@Bramak17 The writer (or at least the perspective of the character) is someone who thinks that Jesus is human. That's not the same thing as being atheist. Many people believe in God but don't believe that Jesus was God... Jews, Muslims, Hindus, a lot of liberal Christians...
