Maybe Knuckles is just dumb? x3 You'd think after protecting the master emerald for so long he'd find a way to make it impossible to get stolen but time again and again it does and he has to go all over the world to find them, even space sometimes. :\ I also guess since he is so easy to trick the idea of fighting Knuckles as a boss is basically always there tho you gotta wonder how does EGGMAN tricks him every time? I guess that angel island mess wasn't enough for him to think about it twice.

If you have Played the all Sonic games, (like me) You would now that you are ACCTUALLY fighting against Knuckles becauseIn the cutscene after the Battle Knuckles says That Eggman tricked him, Just like in Sonic 3, Soinc and Knuckles, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Sonic Adventure, And other games.
