What would I do without Cleed?
So Cleed (cleedrulez), my highly respected adviser lmao, noticed that Lu Bu's full C3 sequence had a dealt roughly the same damage as his long Fire Musou with the Dragon Amulet setup, shown in Lu Bu's first Heavy weapon setup alternative. This setup involved maxing out the Musou bar, and taking advantage of Lu Bu's incredible Musou filling ability with his C3, the unblockability of his C3 ending, and the maximized Musou damage with the Heavy weapon, using the Fire Orb. Basically it's a perfectly consistent setup because of how well his C3 fills Musou and how his C3 is unblockable when mastered. On top of this consistency, his Musou damage is maximized with the Fire Orb and the Heavy weapon weight.

OK, so what Cleed noticed was that C3 damage and his Fire Musou damage is pretty close, so he thought, hmm what would a strict C3 offense do? and with a Charge 40 enhancement?
So we looked at the offense closely and found that C3 was indeed stronger than his Fire Musou. The length of Musou doesn't really matter because what's important here is damage rate, that is how much damage is dealt within a given time, and C3 wins in this case. To give C3 even more credit, it's always readily accessible. The advantage here is small because it only becomes useful and obvious in a multiple officer scenario with no peons or an insufficient supply of peons to contribute to Musou filling, and this scenario is shown in the video.

Before the commentary on the scenarios, I should make a note on the Weapon and the Items.
Since there's no need for Musou, there's no need for Fill. This frees up two slots which should be devoted to Life and Defense. This is one other reason why this alternative is better, which makes it not much of an alternative anymore, but more of a superior setup. Life and Defense are useful to allow Lu Bu to take sacrifices when trying to approach an officer in the middle of a massive thick crowd like in Shi Ting. The Light Orb was used for all these recordings purely for the best outcome against multiple officers. But obviously in the typical stage, it's not often to face more than one officer at once, so the Ice Orb would the best choice. So then, the choice of Ice or Light really depends on the stage.
The Dragon Arms qualifies as the best choice for his last item slot. What the Dragon Arms does is minimize the recovery time of his C3, now that it's significantly longer than his C3 at Medium weight.

1) Generic Officers:
It actually seems almost obvious that the offensive speed is a lot faster than the Long Musou - Fire Orb setup. It takes less than two C3's to kill a generic officer, and I think just about two full C3's to kill playable officers. That's FAST.

2) Multiple Officers with insufficient number of peons for Musou Fill
This is a very important scenario to show exactly how this setup is superior than his previous Long Musou - Fire Orb setup. The consistency in this C3 spamming setup completely carries over to this unique and typically tough scenario.

3) Multiple Officers in Massive Dense Crowds
This early scenario in Yang Ping Gate is definitely one that will be used for Tier List analysis. This scenario is important to show how his C3 spamming methods are safe enough in the thickest of crowds. The only other characters capable of matching Lu Bu at this would probably be Pang De, and probably Zhuge Liang.

I recorded his performance against the Bai Di Shu Officer Pileup. For those of you that don't know about this pileup, it's charging the main camp on Wu Forces in Bai Di Castle and attracting around five to six officers at once. Something messed up with the recording so it's not included in this video. The results are similar to the Yang Ping Gate scenario though.

  • if you don't need musou, add shadow orb.

  • no

nope. Shadow Orb deals damage base on a percentage of the officer's current health. It turns out that this percentage isn't even impressive at an officer's full health. With Lu Bu's first C3 taking out more than half the health bar of a generic officer, the C3 shockwave by default without Shadow Orb deals more damage than with the Shadow Orb, so it is in fact disadvantageous to equip the Shadow Orb

  • Damn! Could Shadow Orb also be used?

  • @dw5chaosfan This just shows that Lu Bu is incredible against multiple officers.

  • 10 million bucks that lu bu taught chuck norris everything that made him the boss.

  • I want to see this setup clear Wu Zhang Plains Shu forces.

  • Is Lubu wearing eyelinner??

  • @MrJiraiyaSage You're not ever gonna find Lu Bu without his weapon.

  • @LuBualmighty Light weapons don't usually have any advantages over medium and heavy weapons, unless the characters in question have serious Charge Attack issues.

Even then, offense is incredibly slow with a Light weapon.

Also, Heavy weapons give characters the ability to not flinch during any attack animations, unless they are in midair.

  • Lubu is only strong because of his weapon, but without it he is a weakling, easy to kill

  • "Can anybody provide me with a decent challenge!?"

  • Not really light weapons do little damage

  • Can anybody provide me with a decent challenge?
