@daytonmlivingston It's not depressing. It's walking quietly on a moonlit night, peacefully, with no one to bother you, with no regrets, having stars shimmering above you, with a fully bright moon.

@daytonmlivingston DEPRESSION?!? This sonata is generally regarded as one of the two or three greatest ever written. Good grief - some of these amateur opinions are incredibly moronic. Sometimes it is better to just keep one's mouth (or fingers) shut.

Very beautiful, but could somebody please tune-up at least the d'''
Marvelous: Your idea about 4:15.

I don't know how you could learn this. The depression in it just makes me wanna throw up. That piece is too dark for me.

Oh those arpeggios that emerge in the passage that rises out of the bass -- so cold, so soul crushing... The opening of 4 is brilliant.

I used to find this sonata bombastic and ill proportioned, but i am coming to love this work as much as his other late works.

Yes I agree. I think Barenboihm's version is better, but Valentina's technique surpasses that of barenboihm.
So I guess this is a live performance, right? Thank you so much for sharing, I love you play Beethoven!
