Mau politics & previous evictions

Squatters who have moved out of the Mau forest continue camping by the roadsides in Southwestern Mau as politicians trade accusations over the Mau. Although no force has been used to move the squatters a section of leaders have accused the government of treating the squatters inhumanely. Did the government which has a history of violent evictions cross the line this time round ?. Rita Tinina looks back at previous evictions from forest land and why the Mau case is such a big deal.

I have a very strong point of view, why leaders steer up the wheel and later cry for what has happened? contradiction and mistext means that politicians use the poor to fix their political role. I don mean its wrong for them to talk and argue now but, y at first supported the eviction?

Mistakes were made and the efforts to correct those mistakes will certainly be painful - what has to be done, has to be done. I begin to understand Wangari Maathai's formula for failure. You cannot be two-faced about issues of concern to you. There 're always going to be trade-offs and you will have to pick a side - either the people have a place to live or the rest of the country pays for their existence. Sorry, while watching this, I suffered a mental transformation ... was this 1926 or 2008/9?? Were those security personnel demolishing Kenyan houses sent by the KENYA Government? Really?? Is the person who sent them there still in power? I am sure the whole government resigned when the images were flashed into TVs. I am sure the people who did this were taken to court for destroying livelihoods. I am sure the local leaders raised a hue and cry over this. I am sure, unless this was 1926

I'm puzzled beyond words, from 2.00-14 thanks NTV for bringing this one up. Where is clarity of our leaders? Isn;t Embobout, Enosupukia, Aberdares, Mt Kenya, Elgon and Chelangany hills people who also need protection? Mr. Ruto are you neglecting crisis playing petty politics in just one region? Ruto is a Hippo crate as I said before those so called elders of rift valley have vast lands if they feel so bad about this people they should just donate a couple of hectors for the squatters....I guess not...
