This demonstration is to show potential of Kawai K5000 additive synth at creating some unique sounds, textures.
Most of the sounds you'll hear here (about 90%) come from k5000, while the drums patterns were created on Rebirth.
Watch it in "720p HD mode" for better sound quality.

  • The pads on this synth *are* terrific, but overdone. I think you touch on some of this synth's other flavors; very nice!

  • @ByTheHawkful

    Thanks for your opinion!

This video was meant to convey my personal feelings, thoughts, and connection that i have with this machine, reflected in my particular style and the kind of music that i like to create. The results will clearly not be satisfying to everybody as everybody is different. Perhaps in the right hands, i am confident that this machine could be fitted to any style of music, not just for its massive pads and atmos.

  • Nice! I have the K5000S and I think you've captured the special qualities of this synth very well! Nice with something to watch instead of an LCD screen as well.

  • @doctorzingo

Yes, having owned it since they first came out, I can conclude that that is the best thing they were made for: unique, evolving and complex pads.

  • I've listened to this a bunch of times now, do you have a myspace page or website where I can hear more of your music?

  • Beautiful! Thanks for this. I've a lot of Kawai gear in my collection; K1r, K3m, K4, K4r, XD-5: I've wanted one of these for a long time because of sounds like these - but they are hard to find. Nicely done.

  • This video is the reason I want to have a K5000 (S or R). Can somebody donate one to me? :D :D

  • reminds me the sounds of The Shamen.....great job!!!! well done....i need one to programming.

  • @ElenaDiakova It is for sure in the top 5!

  • Using a synthesizer to emulate instruments perfectly as a goal went out back in the 1980's. Now they are used as a separate form of sound creation that sometimes seems to be another instrument. A good analogy might be the Didgeridoo which is said to resemble a barking dog or frog or whatever. It is still a unique instrument. I love this sound, this machine and the emotional effects of this song. Where might I find some songs to enjoy at home? = )

  • ***** perfect

  • Beautiful

  • This certainly is one beautiful production and I like how you talk about your "bond" with this synthesizer. I have the K5000S. I love it. I agree that it's totally adaptable to most styles. I think it gives the Access Virus and the like a powerful nudge to the side too. I use mine with an Akai S5000 for acoustic instruments, and Yamaha EX7 to balance everything out. My style leans a little more towards progressive rock mixed with some blues, funk and ethnic styles, Pink Floyd, etc.

  • it has a very clean watery sound, at least from the audio demos i'm hearing. very digital.

i like your audio, very nice to listen to.
