Here's some thing to think about Golbez is the only surviving villain from Chaos, and in the 14th cycle of war if there is one he will be the only villain who knows what happened in the last two or more cycles. which puts him at the top of the food chain and he will be able to manipulate the rest of the villains except maybe chaos himself, and leave Cosmos with the upper hand so in retrospect he will be a Warrior of Cosmos in the long run.

When I first saw Golbez before I knew anything about him or Cecil I thought Golbez was Cecil wearing really powerful version of Dark Knight armor. But then I played FFIV. He does look like Dark Knight on crack though. :)
