The Word "Atheist"

The word atheist conjures up so much in the minds of people who are still trapped in the darkness of religion. There is nothing nefarious stated or implied in the word 'atheist'. It just means we see no evidence of a god or gods. It doesn't mean there isn't a god, it just means we see no evidence of it. It doesn't mean we reject morality, indeed, our ethic is definitely superior to the claptrap found in the bible or the quran. So to call someone an atheist is not a filthy slur. it's no more pointed than saying someone is in the phonebook.

"we don't see any evidence of a god" is not only saying nothing about "we", it is false.

Testimonies are evidence in court and they are evidence here too.

I am an atheist, and I think you don't know what that even is.

What theists don't have is proof, they have tons of evidence and atheists pick apart that evidence on a constant basis.

Well Mike, instead of wasting your time as a minister you might have instead wasted your time reading some logic instead... and that way you see, you wouldn't have so missed my point that saying "we don't see..." says nothing about "we".

I am an atheist... you by all accounts don't know what that is.

And testimonies are evidence in court... and here too. You confuse evidence with proof. Theists have no proof, they have mounds of evidence. All of it lame.

I'm pretty sure Obama is an athiest, sure he goes to church aparently....but I think it's just a front.

I really don't like the word atheist much, irreligious is a little better...but when it comes down to it, we are the normal people & they are the theists.

It's not like we define anything else we belive way saying that we are not soemthing else.

For instance I'm not-vegitarian. I'm not-a clown.
