Hi
I like to sing, I always wanted to be a singer since I was young but life happened as it tends to do....work, marriage, raising the kids... mostly by myself, your dreams tend to dissolve into the years and become the i coulda, woulda, shoulda stories everyone has... I have no regrets....I have done my work and paid my dues. I can still chase my dreams through karaoke. Like it or not..It's Me...My cheap mike and old computer...Raw, no fancy equipment or special effects. Good or Bad its just me. This is the first of many to come I'm not a professional I sing what I like. "Imitation Is The Sincerest Form Of
Flattery". I hope you enjoy listening as much as I enjoy singing. I have led an interesting although sheltered life; I would like to share a little with you today. In my life I have seen the Black / White race thing rotate in and out you see I
Have been in both worlds at the same time. My life would be considered confusing by some but when I was younger I never really realized exactly the gravity of my situation.
I grew up back in the late 50's and early 60's in a small southern town at the pinnacle time frame of racial tensions, segregation, separate bathrooms, drinking fountains and Restaurants for the Whites and Colored I remember the signs vividly but being very light complexioned I was considered white by most everyone although my family were black. I attended Lyles Elementary School from 1961 through 1963 a segregated all black school I never really fit in there because I was so light skinned, so with where we were in the school district and not knowing really where to place me, I was transferred to Cedar Lake Elementary from 1964 through 1966...at the time an all
White segregated school; I seemed to fit in a little better there at the time. Back in the day even with the race division blacks and whites would share the bus that is with one row of seats on both sides as a dividing line with me riding in the front, and the rest of my family having to ride in the back of the bus. Sometimes they would hold up a piece of candy or some other treat and I would get up and try to go get it but the bus driver would make me sit down...I never did make it across that line...LOL
Oh well I'm tired from the Loooongg distance I've traversed in time during my reminiscing.....and I don't know if anyone will read this , maybe I will write a little more later on......We'll see;^}

XOXO

  • Hello everyone, haven't been on the computer very long, didn't have them in school as children do today. I only sing on occasion, and when i do indulge myself its just for fun or to help relieve stress. I 'm content and happy within myself, because i try to keep God first in my life before anything and anyone. He has brought me a mighty long way. And thanks again to all of you for listening.
