  • Obama's two objectives for this term:

    1. Get reelected.

    2. Stay alive.

Considering the way the right-wingers freak out over even the suggestion of reform, imagine what they'd do if a president actually tried to do real reform.

  • I think the "change" Obama was talking about is the 49 cents in my pocket.

    WTF Obama!

  • Right wing blowback appends to corporate power, shielded from view (for those not much interested in looking) by public government's apparent democracy. It isn't that the Democrats simply aren't much interested in real reform, it's that those largely calling their shots aren't. WE see the narrow range of what our own "Evil Empire" will allow.

Yeah, I know, not actually quite that simple. But it's closer to the truth than a lot of the shorthand reports about "who actually runs" the country.

  • McCain is pro,as arnie said "I might play a action hero in my movies, but McCain is a real action hero, yea argh GET TO THE CHOPPA!!!!"

  • @yohaneuano4 banks still need peoples money, yanks have lots of money so the banks will want to stay in america, mexico not much money and europe already stricter with banks than yanks, though not by much

  • I don't understand Mccain, just from hearing a small fraction of his history with the military and the many extraordinary experiences he's been through, you'd think he would be a VERY stern man, what we have instead is a guy who can't keep that many political opinions for more then a year straight.

I do have a tremendous amount of respect for his many accomplishments in the military, but with politics, it's like he just bends over backwards.

  • @yohaneuano4 um..no they cant? there would be MASSIVE losses to up and move every facility to a new country....further, america has some of the most lax rules anyways even after this reform

  • Stop, stop, stop, stop... You cannot compare apple and tomato. A heck of a lots of bank in Canada and in Mexico are based in USA. And, even if the European market is fine to some need, I will put Singapore at the place of Canada and Mexico.

  • Stop analysing the characters, Obama can do nothing for the current structure. If he doesn't do what the banks tell him they can fuck off with their assets to Canada or Mexico or Europe.
