Finally! I was able to get the data off my old drive just before it clicked loudly and went off to the great HDD platter pile in the sky! It's good to be back and even better not to have lost my projects. I have got to get a backup drive one of these days. But here it is, the tutorial I was rendering weeks ago before I had to unplug my secondary drive - Shapewipes! What are they, how do you make your own, and where can I get more? The answers are inside!!

Akirad is having some scripting problems, so here's a link to the Transitions download page at the Community Version homepage. I has a link to the Akirad package, plus several others you'll enjoy!

  • Awesome video as always. I followed your setup of cinelerra-cv from your earlier videos. For some reason the Shape wipe effect does not work. I tried changing settings from white to black and black to white, changed the time from 1 sec to 2 sec, changed the shape file to other files but it consistently does not change. What happens is for the duration of the effect the first picture is visible then the second picture becomes visible without a transition.

    jpeg files are different dimensions?

  • @SharkTheArdvark LOVE your name! That's odd... What distro are you using and what video card? If you do a test render does it work? I have found that if you don't have the dimension the same in your image file, it will scale it automatically so that shouldn't be a problem.

  • hey it's budgiebreder. my video response is a video i made a while back and uploaded to this account but it shows some different homemade shapewhipes. the video took 5 months to make because there's so many but i thought it might be nice to show some more =)

  • @uploadbudgiebreder Cool, where's the video? :-)

  • @vaasnaad Thank you and your videos rock. I'm using debian sid with mixed repositories from aptosid, debian experimental, and sid. kde desktop 4.5.3 graphics: GeForce 9500 GT with nvidia driver version 260 for x64 architecture. Test render all the transitions are working correctly, only when I play the compositor does not show it. But thank you for the suggestion to render as now I see it works correctly. Looking forward to your coming videos. Love your wallpaper BTW one of my favorite topics.
