This isn't in D flat, this is in the key of A flat. It is the A flat mixolydian scale. I know because you can not do this in any other key. Source: "The Right Hand According to Tatum"

@gregdebelles I belive classical pianists make it a rule never to place the thumb on a black key, if possible.

What about other keys? Does one transpose this device exactly, or keep the thumb on the white keys no matter what the tonality?
