HS 2000: Preclude to the Springfield XD9

After owning multiple Springfields and Glocks, its an easy decision to choose the HS 2000 9x19mm as my favorite service pistol. Even though the HS 2000 (same as Springfield XD) has a higher profile than the Glock 17, it isn't enough to take away from the features and benefits that makes an HS 2000 9mm pistol better than a Glock 17. Once the caliber goes higher than the 9mm, I may consider the Glock to take the lead with its lower profile slide that disperses the energy up the arm instead of being snappy.

@DrayDay82 before Springfield bought the company and renamed it the XD, it was sold as the HS2000 by IM Metal. I have the 2nd gen HS2000 and love it.

@hockeydawg Springfield only bought the import rights to the U.S., not the company. The rest of the world still receives a gun still labeled the HS 2OOO.

I just picked up a HS 2000 9mm from a buddy of mine, mine doesn't have the rails and it seems to be an awesome gun! Great review!

@hockeydawg Hs 2000 is producing in Croatian factory HS produkt, XD is just name for american market, and in Croatia and Europei'ts called HS 2000

If you want the 16 round mags, just buy the Springfield ones and they'll fit just fine since it's the exact same pistol. I just picked one up yesterday with the XD Gear kit. In my opinion, it's the best pistol on the market.

XD is just a renamed HS2000, they are no different. I love my XD and I'm wearing it in a Galco HALO holster with a mounted Streamlight TLR-1. I hope that HS makes their pistol chambered in 5.7 x 28 in the future as I would replace my .40 S&W XD for it.

Actually, before we got the 2000 we had HS 95, not nearly as good as 2000 but still did the job.
