I like to use this drill to work on getting your hands and arms in the proper position for the catch. The important parts are that your elbows stay in front of your shoulders and your forearms are rotated downward to the bottom of the pool.

Also note that your hands only move side to side not backward and forward, and lastly,you only move your arms and hands from the elbows down, your upper arms don't move.
