I do not have to always remind her to behave or chase her down to catch her. She always comes up to me, especially if you call her. If you take awhile getting to her she just goes and stands in her stall out of the way. She is far from a problem child. She is respectful but still young so she has energy from time to time but she is very laid back. I have ponied her down the road, saddled and unsaddled, she loves getting out and looking at things. I have rode her once in the round pen, first ride ever, she walked, trotted, stopped and turned no problems. You've heard it before, but I'm going to say it again, all this filly needs is someone to fine tune her and take her out into the world. I would even put an experienced 10 year old on her to finish her out as a really nice project. She is still getting BIGGER!!
Easy to catch even with halter and lead in hand, leads, loads, ties, grooms, bathes, picks up all feet very nicely (nice solid hooves). Easily wears a closed front winter blanket. She's gotten a little sticky on her round pen work, but she really doesn't need it anymore. She just needs someone to get on and go. She has no bite, kick, buck, or any nonsense to people. She has kicked the goat when it got into her feed bucket but you can play with her while she eats. She was starved living with 15 other mares so she had to fight for her food, but she's gotten alot better since I've rescued her.
She does have an umbilical hernia, its been healing on its own very well but I think its process has platoued, so I believe it needs to be banded. (this is one reason I have not rode her more)
registered name in AQHA is Harlans Mona Lisa
she will be 3 in May.
She currently stands about 13.2, but she's been measured out and should reach 15 hands. Her knees have gotten thicker and there is still a big gap in there.(another reason I haven't rode her more) This means she's going to grow into those!
She is probably 700-800lbs right now.
