Ye Lai Xiang, as performed by Patty Wu, vocalist, & the Wolfgang Classical Wind Ensemble & Singers in their 2009 Spring Concert. Conductor Dennis Noon arranged this popular Chinese song for Wolfgang Winds and soloist. "Ye Lai Xiang, literally, 'Night Comes Fragrance,' which is a nickname for Tube-rose because this flower gives out its fragrance at nighttime in the summer. This Mandarin song became popular all across the Asian Continent in the 1940s and has remained well known to this day.
Wolfgang was organized in 2006 to provide advanced students (and a few mentors) with a performing medium that would continue to challenge their abilities. It now encompasses generations of players, and continues to grow and mature as a wind ensemble.
