Rickie Lee is definitely an a voice that is above the norm; like Phoebe Snow's, hers is a heart coming through the vocal chords. If you take the time to go through the RLJ catalogue of songs (preferably chronologically), you will understand that her voice defies genres and in doing so, melds many styles from pop to jazz. If you just want to go to the top, I would suggest "The Magazine" because it shows her vocal and writing skills at their apex. Thanks Rickie for the years of "Company".
