"I Walk Alone Down the Road" is an old Russian "romants" sung by Dmitri Khvorostovsky with the St Petersburg Chamber Choir. It is one of those classic old "weepies" that we Russians love so much, full of soulful heartache and longing. I think that the art of Ilya Repin is a perfect match for this music.

In transliteration, one goes for sound values. In standard Russian, unstressed "o" has the sound value of "a", and it is often transliterated thusly.
