Video Art: "No Self" - Mother of Water

A video in the mind of a pregnant woman who gets positive HIV blood test results when she finds out she is infected by her own husband she loses her mind sinking in the mekong river.

By Dutch video-artist Maurice Spees is created for and together with the performance: Mother of Water, for the advocacy of HIV/AIDS,gender and sexuality in the Mekong Region. Inspired by a woman who gets infected with HIV by her philandering husband. Throughout the story she loses herself completely: these images is what she sees when she sinks deep to the depth of the Mekong river. It's inspired by our dreamworld and nightmares.
This video art is mend to be performed together with a performance artist live on stage.
